Slipped capital femoral epiphysis

1-Posterior inferior displacement of proximal femoral epiphysis.

2-Bilateral in 25% of cases.

3-Associated avascular necrosis in 15%.

4-Cause: Unknown, it could be due to trauma or obesity.

5-How to diagnose Slipped epiphysis on plain film:







The second sign is widening of the physis in the affected hip.

 CT is the most diagnostic procedure for diagnosis.
