The normal orientation of the UCL is vertical (green dotted line) and lies deep to the adductor aponeurosis (blue dotted line) which can be imperceptible. Stener lesions demonstrate a dramatic change in ligament orientation (red dotted lines) and the adductor aponeurosis is often seen just distal to and abutting the displaced ligament (arrowheads).
