1-Posterior cruciate ligament is attached to the posterior surface of the femur downward from one side and to the posterior part of the articular surface of the tibia from the other side.
2-In MRI image, it should be appears as a thick black robe.
3-When teared, it becomes enlarged and hyper intense(these are the two signs of injury of PCL).
4-There are three types of PCL injury:
-Complete tear.
-Partial tear where you find a part of the ligament teared and other part is normal.
-Avulsion tear occurs at the site of insertion of the ligament with tibia where the ligament is avulsed with small segment of bone.
