Collateral ligaments

1-There are three grades for injury of collateral ligaments, grade 1 and 2 are treated conservatively while grade 3 is treated surgically.

2-Grade 1:The ligament is still in its normal position but with little surrounding edema.

3-Grade 2:The ligament is enlarged and away from bone.

4-Grade 3:The ligament is completely teared(becomes two pieces).
